Elliot arrived

The Pickle arrived shortly before midnight on Tuesday March 10.

His name is Elliot and he's a chunker, weighing 4 kgs (8lbs, 13oz) and if he could stand, he would be 20 inches tall.

Husband was the first to hold him shortly after he was born.  Notice Husband's hospital scrubs. More on that later.

Tired little guy.

Tired me. This is what I look like two days after an emergency C-section, after hours of natural labor.  I an not thinking nice thought about any of it, other than ones involving Elliot and Husband.

Elliot wants food and wants it now.

Elliot got food.
So that's all I have for you right now, but overall, everyone is well and happy.

And, in case you can't tell, Elliot is the complete image of Husband.

In the words of the doctor who showed up this morning and got a look at Elliot nestled in Husband's arms, "Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh, you can't run away from that one."

Congratulations! He's a big one, alright! :-) I don't envy you the C-section, hope it all at least went well with regards to the hospital staff being nice, caring and understanding!

Hi Sweet family:
E-beth, I know that you are exhausted right now with the labor, then c-section and all. As a mommy who survived a similar scenario, I can promise that the second birth (should you choose to do it again) is MUCH, MUCH easier. Try to rest while you can and listen to your body. You have a beautiful, beautiful baby! XOXOXO

We're thinking about you. Elliot is gorgeous, gives Zeke a run for his money in terms of birth size. Can we talk soon? Shoot me an email and let me know a number and time...

He's super cute and the good part of the C-section is that absolutely perfect head. No coneheaded baby for you, he's picture perfect. Enjoy him!

Congrats on everything!

He is seriously cute. Can you stand it? Seriously. So, so cute. What a perfect little guy.

Rest as much as you can. It may seem hazy and weird right now but you'll feel like yourself before you know it.

Meanwhile, kiss that beautiful boy for me.

Congratulations to you and Husband! Elliot is perfectly adorable.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. You hinted at quite an ordeal. Bummer. I was kind of rooting for the Norwegians to come through for you. Looking forward to hearing more about it.

Congrats again! Here's wishing you lots of rest....

Thanks everyone. We're thrilled. And no, it was pretty much opposite of the way I expected in every single way, except for one thing. The one thing that turned out exactly as I hoped was that Elliot would be okay and safe and healthy. So, really, that's all that really matters.
